Our development lab never stops working. This week, we’re proud to deploy the latest version of our industry-standard iOS app, Venue Driver Mobile Check-In. Free to our clientele, this update includes mostly under-the-hood improvements with regards to stability. One notable addition in this update is now events are displayed with their dates, especially useful to our clients who have a repetitive event every week without “banner” talent to differentiate each event. This update is available now through the App Store and can be acquired via iTunes or via the App Store app on your iOS device.

Venue Driver to the Southern Hemisphere
Thursday, September 9th, 2010Venue Driver is proud to welcome our first client in the Southern Hemisphere, Fez Club in Cape Town. Known around the region for it’s mix of traditional dance-themed nights as well as live music, shows, and more, Fez brings an eclectic mix to one of the most up-and-coming metropolitan areas in the world, as was recently shown during the 2010 World Cup. Our new friends at the Fez will be utilizing the full Venue Driver suite, including the latest version of our iOS application, now available for free to all Venue Driver users in the App Store. Fez will also be amongst the first users of the iPad in South Africa, as the device is not yet available for general release in the country. If you’re in the area, see Venue Driver in action starting in the next few days at Fez Club, located at 11 Mechau St, Cape Town 8001, South Africa.
Venue Driver introduces receipt printing capability.
Tuesday, August 24th, 2010After testing with some of the hottest venues in the world, we’re proud to offer receipt/chit printing capability for Venue Driver’s VIP/reservation check-in function. Certainly, the nightlife world is becoming a paperless one, with many venues eschewing paper-systems entirely in favor of systems like our cutting-edge iPad application-based software, but for many venues, especially those situated in hotels and casinos, a paper-based backup of transactions may be required by corporate policy, or local law itself.
With that in mind, we’re proud to offer this feature for all new and existing clients. We can work to configure your existing POS printers to properly format for our system, or users can select from our low-cost line of thermal and impact printers for a painless turnkey operational experience. Please contact your Venue Driver rep today for more information on this useful new feature. And as always, any interested parties may drop us a line at anytime at sales@venuedriver.com for more information on the Venue Driver suite of services.

Apple updates iOS for all devices
Wednesday, July 21st, 2010A few days ago, Apple Inc deployed an update to their iOS platform across their entire mobile device line, including the iPad, iPod touch, and iPhone 3G, 3GS, and 4. On the iPad, the version went from 3.2 to 3.2.1, where the major fix includes optimizations to the Wi-Fi component of the  iPad, allowing for a more consistent and reliable 3G connection. On the iPod touch and iPhone, the version went from 4.0 to 4.0.1, with the main issue being addressed including a more accurate representation of signal strength on the device.
We encourage all of our clients to sync their mobile Apple devices to obtain these updates. As they are connectivity-related, this will result in more consistent performance with the Venue Driver suite.
